Entertainment industry leaders from the United States, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Bangladesh, Malaysia, the Philippines and Canada, led by, John McReynolds, President of the Council of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), visited Xcaret and Xoximilco parks.
Miguel Quintana Pali, President of Grupo Experiencias Xcaret, told the visitors that Mexico has great potential which should be used to develop the tourism industry. He said the parks he represents will continue enriching Cancun and the Riviera Maya as tourist destinations.
During the visit to Xcaret, John McReynolds, who also is Senior Vice President of external affairs for Universal Parks and Resorts, gave a recognition to Quintana Pali for his contribution to the development of the industry, and praised the vision of the Mexican businessman to realize unique concepts of sustainable tourism.
Reynolds was accompanied by Gerardo Arteaga Cerda, Outgoing President of IAAPA, and Paulina Reyes, Vice President of Operations for IAAPA in Latin America. Attendees also included executives from Terra Hotels, Andy Alligator’s Fun Park, Fantasyland, La Granja Villa, White Water West, The Wet World, Enchanted Kingdom, Morey’s Piers, Sea World and Universal Parks.
Xcaret is one of Mexico's ecotourism destinations located on the shore of the Caribbean Sea. There are three Underground Rivers surrounded by magnificent natural scenery. The area also features amazing marine and land species, protected by Xcaret’s conservation programs. More than 300 performers exhibit the history, culture and folklore of Mexico and delicious varieties of international cuisine are featured in the Park. Xcaret Park was recognized as the Best International Theme Park and the Best Water Park in the world by US travel agents, in the 2016 Travvy Travel Awards.
