RE/MAX Honors Three as Outstanding Administrative Professionals of 2015; Winners Work with Brokerages in Barrington Area, Chicago and South Suburbs
CHICAGO (PRWEB) April 03, 2016 -- The RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network recently presented its Administrative Professional of the Year award for 2015, and the honor was shared by three women. They are Cherie Gilliland of RE/MAX of Barrington and RE/MAX NOW; Lynnda Coury of RE/MAX 10 and Cathy Migdalia Ortega of RE/MAX Edge.
This award recognizes the efforts of office administrators who make major contributions not only by facilitating day-to-day operations but also by creating an office environment that supports the productivity and spirit of the entire brokerage team.
Coury was recognized for her vital role at RE/MAX 10 and especially for helping handle the acquisition last year of two RE/MAX offices, one in Chicago’s Lincoln Park area and one in New Lenox, Ill. The firm already had offices near Midway Airport in Chicago, as well as in Oak Lawn and Palos Park, Ill.
Based at the Oak Lawn office of RE/MAX 10, Coury said she enjoys her job because of its fast pace and the short commute from her home in Worth, Ill. She also relishes working with the 200 agents affiliated with RE/MAX 10.
“It’s fun because we have sort of a smorgasbord of ethnicities, and there’s always a lot to do,” Coury noted, who joined RE/MAX 10 in 2007 after working for many years as a legal secretary. “Especially because we now have five offices, every day brings new challenges.”
Ortega joined RE/MAX Edge, located in Chicago’s Lake View neighborhood, in 2013, where her current position is that of Human Resources and Agent Development Specialist. It’s a role for which she is well suited, given that she is a licensed real estate agent with 14 years experience. In fact, it was her work as a broker, dealing with foreclosed homes that led her into the administrative side of the business, something she found she greatly enjoyed.
“My favorite part of this job is working with our brokers and helping them grow their business,” Ortega said. “I’ve been in their shoes, and I understand the kinds of challenges they face every day.”
Gilliland has become an indispensible part of the administrative team at RE/MAX of Barrington in Barrington, Ill., and RE/MAX NOW in Lake Barrington, Ill., but she started 12 years ago as a part-timer working out of her home helping RE/MAX of Barrington advertise its listings. Then about six years ago she began working in the office and watched her role grow. When the office administrator decided to move on, Gilliland was offered the job.
“What I like most about my job is working with 50 amazing and talented agents and always providing them with fast, accurate results so they have great success helping families reach their dreams,” she said. “I take such pride in learning the newest technology, establishing budgets, reconciling bank accounts and preparing all the financial reports to keep our office running smoothly.”
