Abt Associates Names Michael Link President and CEO of Abt SRBI
BETHESDA, MD (PRWEB) April 06, 2016 -- Abt Associates has named Michael W. Link, a widely respected data scientist and leader in survey research, as President and CEO of Abt SRBI, a leader in survey, opinion, and public policy research. Link is the past-president of the American Association for Public Opinion Research.
He joins Abt SRBI from Nielsen, where he was chief behavioral methodologist and senior vice president of Nielsen’s Data Science Institute, a global center of innovation and research. There, he led external research collaborations, research dissemination, as well as the development of global leadership programs. He also oversaw the company’s Singapore Innovation Hub, a collaborative effort between Nielsen and the Singapore Economic Development Board to create new measurement strategies using organic/big data and machine-learning techniques, global segmentation methods, and data collection approaches in emerging economies.
In addition, he served as a senior behavioral methodologist and research and methods team leader at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where he led a staff of survey methodologists and statisticians specializing in survey research methods. Prior to this, he was the senior survey director and methodologist at RTI International.
“Michael is a visionary thought leader on the convergence of survey research and data science as well as a successful business executive with a deep understanding of the public and private sector aspects of the survey and data research industry,” said Abt’s Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer Jay L. Knott.
Link is the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and is a reviewer for several publications.
He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in political science from the University of South Carolina, and a Bachelor’s in Biology from Georgia State University.
