Providing solutions for “I’m bored!” Hall Piano Music Academy’s 2016 Summer Camps combine musical education and entertainment sure to engage students ages 6-17.

The Academy accepts students of all teachers in the local New Orleans area through three (3) age-graded camps with development opportunities for children from 6-9, 10-12 and 12-17.

While designed for beginners, students must have 6 months prior experience in private piano lessons before enrolling in the “Summer Fun Piano Camps.” The cost per student is $135. The “Summer Songwriting Workshop” is open to ages 12-17, requires students to have some prior experience in piano, voice or guitar lessons, and costs $150 per student. To provide the best experience, the number of spots in each session is limited and filled on a first come, first served basis. Registration/payment may be made online at hallpiano.com/summer-camps.

The first “Summer Fun Piano Camp” will run June 13th - 17th from 9:00-11:45am. Perfect for ages 6 – 9, this camp will include music storytelling, ensemble playing and performances, musical games and activities, theory, ear training, composer history, and more.

The second “Summer Fun Piano Camp” will run July 11th - 15th from 9:00–11:45am. For ages 10 – 12, students will enjoy music theory and ear training games, performance classes, sight reading workshops, duets and ensemble practice, one-on-one lessons with Academy staff on harmonization, memorization techniques, performance practices, and more.

The “Summer Songwriting Workshop” will run June 20th - 24th from 9:00am - 12:00pm. Designed for ages 12 – 17, students must have prior experience in piano, voice, or guitar lessons. In this workshop students will enjoy hands on assistance with harmonization, notation, lyrics and working with other musicians. Students will also receive basic training on the piano that will allow them to write on multiple instruments. There are also several performance opportunities throughout the camp!
