Pinellas County Father Launches ‘As They Gathered’ to Help the Homeless in the Tampa Bay Area
Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) April 06, 2016 -- A Pinellas County father has launched an organization to help children, families, and individuals in need of food, clothing and mental health counseling. Rusty Rich has been a freelance web designer and digital marketer in the Tampa Bay area for more than 15 years; his vision for helping the homeless has now become a larger organization called ‘As They Gathered’ (http://www.astheygathered.org) or ‘ATG’.
“We know times can get tough, and hunger or lack of clothing is a problem that we look to help solve,” said Rich, founder and president of ‘As They Gathered’. “ATG is a charitable organization that has been established to expand resources from a few donating friends to a larger reach for the community to absorb.”
Rusty explained that ATG is not meant to replace any of the federal, state or local government’s long-term efforts to aid the homeless but rather to act as a short-term bridge to help children, families, and individuals when they hit a rough patch in the road.
“Our building allows us to prepare meals and store food and clothing for the homeless, and families in need,” Rich said. “It also serves as a facility where donations can be delivered by the public. Our outreach serves Pinellas County and neighboring areas.”
“We give power to the homeless and people in need by showing them that their local community cares and wants to support them as one big family taking care of each other,” Rich said.
