Service Pets are discussed on "Behind The Scenes", with host James Earl Jones for Public Television
(PRWEB) April 06, 2016 -- The definition of service pets has expanded recently, and host James Earl Jones (Sneakers, Star Wars) of the series "Behind the Scenes" is hosting a new piece that can give viewers the information needed to understand how this phenomena is affecting Americans today. The segments of this production are devoted to a variety of issues that are important across the nation, and the series doesn't shy away from controversial or difficult topics.
The term service pets is under some debate between pet owners and more official organizations. Learn more about both sides of the debate, as many are using their pets for emotional disabilities as well as physical. It can potentially cause friction between fellow consumers in spaces like airplanes and retail stores, but it's also changed the quality of life for the proponents of using service pets for less traditional purposes. For years, a service pet would have been defined by most people as a seeing-eye dog, but the changes show how the perception of pets is making an impact on the larger world.
Whether viewers are personally connected to the issue or not, the segment will seek to educate consumers on what service pets are doing for thousands of people across the country.
APT and PBS do not produce "Behind the Scenes" and Public Television stations air these segments at their sole discretion. The opinion presented here do not reflect their views.
