UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School to Offer Graduate Certificates Through Online MBA@UNC Program
Chapel Hill, N.C. (PRWEB) April 07, 2016 -- The University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School has announced four new graduate certificates offered through MBA@UNC, its top-ranked online MBA program.
“These certificates are designed for professionals across all industries who aren’t seeking a degree program for their development, but recognize the potential for career advancement by increasing their in-depth knowledge in critical areas,” said Douglas A. Shackelford, dean of UNC Kenan-Flagler and the Meade H. Willis Distinguished Professor of Taxation.
Beginning in July 2016, UNC Kenan-Flagler will offer MBA@UNC Graduate Certificates in:
• Leadership Development
• Finance
• Data Analytics and Decision Making
• Entrepreneurship and Strategy
“Our UNC Executive Development clients and prospective clients had asked frequently about sending their executives through individual MBA@UNC courses to develop specific skill sets in a shorter period of time than is possible in a degree program,” said Shackelford. “Our approach to these certificates allows us to meet that market need while maintaining our high standards for our students in the small virtual classrooms in the MBA@UNC Program.”
Students will take classes with students in the MBA@UNC degree program and be held to the same academic standards.
MBA@UNC coursework consists of interactive assignments, such as case studies, group projects, asynchronous videos, simulations and reading materials that students complete on their own time. Each week, students meet in a webcam-based online classroom to discuss the week’s material with their professors and no more than 15 classmates.
Graduate Certificate students will have lifelong access to their entire certificate curriculum and course materials. They will take classes 100 percent online, with no in-person requirements, and complete three to five courses for a total of 10 credits within 18 months. Tuition is $1,585.82 per credit hour for the 2016-17 academic year and includes student fees, simulations, assessments, technology platform licensing and support, and some academic materials, but not textbooks.
Applications will be accepted and reviewed twice per year, in January and July. Before the completion of their Graduate Certificate, students who wish to continue their studies as part of a degree program can apply and transfer their earned credits.
