Helix Education and UPCEA to Release Post-Traditional Program Growth Benchmarks at UPCEA Annual Conference
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) April 07, 2016 -- Post-traditional enrollments now make up almost 85% of all undergraduate students, causing colleges and universities to take a hard look at the programs they offer and the way they market and manage them so that they can meet the needs of this growing population. Helix Education and UPCEA have spent the past several months surveying UPCEA member institutions about how they operationalize launching, growing and managing their post-traditional programs. Initial research findings will be released in a presentation led by Helix Education and UPCEA at this week’s UPCEA Annual Conference.
“Reaching students who will thrive in their educational journey is critical for both student and program success, yet we found that only about 20 percent of institutions are using predictive modeling to identify their ideal student prospects. Predictive modeling can enhance their ability to match the right students to the right programs, as well as engage learners throughout, thus delivering a better outcome for both students and the institution,” said Kari Kovar, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Helix Education. "Identifying these higher education benchmarks helps institutions understand where they are today and where there are opportunities to improve marketing, enrollment and retention operations."
“Since 1915, UPCEA has worked to expand access for adult and nontraditional students seeking higher education. It’s through thoughtful research and strategic partnerships with innovative industry leaders like Helix Education that we can continue to create meaningful resources for our member institutions, providing a pathway for their growth and long-term success,” said Robert Hansen, CEO of UPCEA. “Our collaborative research with Helix is helping institutions strategically navigate the ever-changing landscape of higher education and support their post-traditional learners for years to come.”
The presentation, “Fostering a Data-Driven Culture in Higher Education,” will be led by Jim Fong, Director of the UPCEA Center for Research and Marketing Strategy, in tandem with Kovar. This session marks the first in a series of communications about the research findings, with additional releases slated throughout the year including a white paper and webinar.
Helix Education is hosting the conference-wide networking event "The Enrollment Growth Gala on the Green," taking place Friday, April 8th from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Additionally, attendees are invited to stop by booth #301 to talk data-driven enrollment growth with the Helix team. The UPCEA 101st Annual Conference takes place April 7th - 9th in San Diego.
"Together with UPCEA, we are creating a dialogue that shapes the best student-centric experience, raising game changing questions, ideas and strategies along the student lifecycle," said Matthew Schnittman, President and CEO of Helix Education. "UPCEA's esteemed research arm is dedicated to measuring and advancing industry practices, and we are thrilled to partner with their team to empower member institutions with data that can help them prepare for the future. Given the complexity of the post-traditional market, the UPCEA conference sets the stage for meaningful strategic planning and institutional decision making."
