RECESS + Fiverr Join Forces To Empower Student Entrepreneurs
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 07, 2016 -- RECESS, a leading creator of opportunities, content, and moments for motivated millennials and Gen Z, is partnering with Fiverr, the global marketplace for digital services, for the Spring 2016 RECESS Music + Ideas Festival. The two companies have teamed up to provide college entrepreneurs with the opportunities and tools they need to grow their ideas into viable businesses.
The Music + Ideas Festival, first launched in 2013, is the country’s only nationwide college startup pitch competition that showcases student startups along with some of the newest acts in music. Teams from eighteen (18) colleges and universities across the U.S. are given the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to top VCs and investors and get a shot at winning a $250,000 cash prize.
Fiverr has partnered with RECESS to provide Pitch Competition applicants with services to help get their startup off the ground. All applicants receive the “Startup Toolkit," which includes Fiverr credit and access to a private list of Fiverr services such as logo design, copywriting, illustration, SEO, web programming, and more.
This partnership was a natural fit, as the media and events company is also an avid user of the Fiverr platform.
“Running an early-stage startup requires doing a whole lot with very little, so sometimes you need an extra hand,” said RECESS co-founder, Deuce Thevenow. “Fiverr allows companies running a lean model to find high-quality assistance with tasks they need done but don’t have the bandwidth or resources to do.”
For winners of the Pitch Regional Semifinal rounds, the benefits of the partnership extend even further: a Premium Fiverr Package, which includes Fiverr credit to use in building an explainer video, one-on-one assistance from a Fiverr account manager, and a chance to win $2,500 in Fiverr credit.
The RECESS Music + Ideas Festival will be visiting colleges and universities in six (6) regions across the country from April 5th through April 28th. This year's Pitch Competition will be conducted in a bracket format. Regional Semifinalists -- the winners of each campus round -- will pitch on stage against other regional schools, competing for an all-expenses paid trip to Los Angeles for the National rounds, held in June. Following each Regional Semifinal round, attendees are treated to a concert featuring artists including: Giraffage, GoldLink, Gryffin, Lil Dicky, SuperDuperKyle, SNBRN, Tory Lanez, Amtrac, and BJ the Chicago Kid.
