MCNA Insurance Company, the largest privately held dental insurance company in the United States, announced the appointment of the Honorable Rick Perry to the Board of Directors. In addition to his participation on the Board, Mr. Perry serves as a high-level advisor to the executive leadership of the company on a range of strategic issues including governmental relations and business development.
MCNA's proven managed dental care model for state Medicaid and CHIP programs combines increased access through a broad network of participating General Dentists and Specialists supported by a state of the art technology platform and dedicated team of administrative professionals supporting their practices.
"Our primary mission has always been to deliver value to our clients through the administration of high quality dental care and services in a fiscally responsible manner," said Dr. Jeffrey Feingold, MCNA's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "This mission is critically important given the highly transformative state of dental care delivery in many state Medicaid programs. We are pleased to welcome Governor Perry to our Board of Directors. His extensive experience will contribute greatly to our strategy for growth throughout the United States."
Mr. Perry has a distinguished career in public service. He served as Governor of the State of Texas for 14 years, the longest serving governor in the state's history. While Governor, he served two terms as Chairman of the Republican Governors Association. He has also played an influential role in national politics as a two-time candidate for President of the United States of America. Mr. Perry's sensible fiscal policies and transparent, accountable leadership style produced a proven track record for job growth and economic success, and has become a model for cost savings and economic stability for other states to follow. His broad vision for health care delivery resulted in a successful restructuring of the Texas Medicaid Program and increased access to quality dental and medical care.
"I have known Dr. Feingold for quite some time, having enjoyed a successful professional relationship with MCNA since it became a dental benefit administrator for Texas Medicaid," said Mr. Perry. "I know from the experience of restructuring the Texas Medicaid Program that the delivery of dental benefits through a stand-alone managed dental care model works better and costs less. I am pleased to be able to join MCNA's leadership team and am excited about our opportunities to extend better dental care to the most vulnerable citizens of our nation."
