Validation Signifies that HSMs for Government Meet NIST’s Highest Level of Security Standards

SafeNet Assured Technologies, LLC, a U.S. based provider of government high assurance data security solutions, today announced that its Luna Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) for Government have received Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 validation from the National Institution of Standards and Technology (NIST). Luna HSMs for Government are manufactured, sold, and supported in the U.S. exclusively by SafeNet Assured Technologies.

Luna HSMs for Government are dedicated cryptographic processors that securely manage, process, and store cryptographic keys inside a hardened, tamper resistant device. Because HSMs serve as a trust anchor within an organization’s cryptographic infrastructure, it is critical that they meet the highest level of security standards set forth by the U.S. Federal Government. FIPS 140-2 validation signifies that SafeNet Assured Technologies’ Luna HSMs for Government comply with these stringent standards.

The following Luna HSMs for Government have received FIPS 140-2 validation:

  •     Luna SA HSM: Level 2 (Cert. #2488) and Level 3 (Cert. #2489)
  •     Luna PCI-E HSM: Level 2 (Cert. #2488) and Level 3 (Cert. #2489)
  •     Luna G5 HSM : Level 2 (Cert. #2487) and Level 3 (Cert #2500)
  •     Luna Backup HSM: Level 3 (Cert. #2486)
