I want young readers to learn to trust GOD in everything

Within the pages of Donna Taylor Ray’s new book, FLY LIKE AN EAGLE, ($10.99, paperback, 9781498448000; $5.99, e-book, 9781498448017) young readers will follow Madi and her brother Eric as they take a trip to the bird sanctuary with their grandparents. The children excitedly prepare for this excursion to see birds of all kinds with hopes to see baby birds being hatched from eggs. Their wish came true. While at the sanctuary they watch a video showing the long process of baby bald eagles being hatched. Madi and Eric were saddened to see the struggle of the babies slowly emerging from the eggs and wondered why the eagle parents didn’t help break open the eggs. The lesson to be learned is that birds, just like children, need to sometimes learn for themselves. It is a beautiful reminder that occasionally, even God’s best help is to let a person help oneself. This book is a wonderful conversation starter between parents and children, regarding teaching and discipline.
“I want young readers to learn to trust GOD in everything,” states the author. “He knows what's best for us, and sometimes answers our prayers in ways we would not have thought of.”
