Nuzzles & Co. Announces Adoption Center Grand Re-Opening
Park City, Utah (PRWEB) April 10, 2016 -- Nuzzles & Co. Pet Rescue and Adoption has completely changed the rescue and adoption experience for animals and people alike. In late January 2016, the organization temporarily closed the doors to its Adoption Center at the Tanger Outlet Center in Park City, Utah while the space underwent a full remodel. At noon, on Saturday, April 16, 2016, Nuzzles & Co. will cut the ceremonial ribbon and reveal the newly designed and fully remodeled Adoption Center to the community for the first time.
“The newly remodeled Adoption Center is designed to be more comfortable for our animals and to provide ample opportunity for people to play, snuggle and interact with adoptable cats and dogs,” according to Kathleen Toth, President of Nuzzles & Co. Nuzzles’ primary goal was to create a more inviting, warm and friendly experience and combat the long-standing stigma that rescue pets are second-hand, or have something wrong with them. By providing a friendly and inviting place for people, and a more comfortable environment for the animals, Nuzzles hopes to influence people who might not otherwise consider going to a shelter or adoption center to visit and adopt their next pet.
“Nuzzles knows rescue pets are every bit as loving, devoted, well-behaved and deserving of love as an animal purchased from somewhere else and that’s why Nuzzles has opened its doors and invited the community in to meet these amazing pets,” Toth said.
The new Adoption Center features a free-roaming cat room, complete with vertical hideouts and an extended cat walk, where people can play and pet adoptable cats. A large, glassed-in romp room in the middle of the Adoption Center provides ample play space for puppies to jump and tumble, for kittens to climb and pounce and for dogs to chase balls or play tug on a rope. People can enjoy the cat and dog antics with a hot cup of coffee or tea from the comfort of the café and lounge area, or they can enter the romp room and partake in the fun. Nuzzles encourages people to interact with the animals. Quiet meet-and-greet rooms provide privacy for individuals and family wanting to get closer to a particular dog or cat.
On Saturday, the ribbon cutting celebration will begin at 12:00 p.m. and will include a live singing performance by local artist and volunteer Nyah Young from Salt Lake City. From 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., Katie Mullaly, local Park City resident and author, will be reading and signing her two successful childrens’ books: Land of OR and Land of AND. These delightfully illustrated and wonderfully rhymed stories take readers on a journey of making good choices and including others. Nuzzles & Co. will feature both books for sale and store copies will be available for guests and children to read to the Nuzzle pets.
From 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., the internet’s newest feline sensation, Pompous Albert, will be appearing at the Nuzzles Adoption Center to meet and greet his fan base. Hailed as the new Grumpy Cat, Pompous Albert has nearly 100,000 followers on Instagram and has been featured on Inside Edition and in The Huffington Post. Albert, who is named after Albert Einstein, is a Selkirk Rex, a breed known for its tufted and curly hair. He’s a self-proclaimed “rejected show cat,” who was rescued by the owners of a local art wholesaler in Salt Lake City. Now, Albert is out to spread the word about how awesome rescue pets are. Albert will also be featuring limited edition Pompous Albert merchandise for sale.
Nuzzles & Co. will also feature hand-crafted, unique merchandise that will delight both pets and their human companions. Sale proceeds will go directly to help Nuzzles & Co.’s animal rescue efforts. According to Toth, the sales will help fund rescue and “generate an ongoing relationship with our customers, their pets, and our community."
The redesign and remodel of the Nuzzles & Co. Adoption Center was funded through a capital campaign that officially launched in February, 2016. Naming opportunities for rooms and furnishings are still available and the capital campaign will run through the end of 2016. Donors may also purchase large or small plaques for $400 or $200 for the Nuzzles & Co. Donor Wall. Plaques may also be placed in honor or memory of a beloved pet.
The Adoption Center is located in the Tanger Outlet Center in Park City, Utah (6699 North Landmark Drive, Suite B-103) at Kimball Junction. The Adoption Center is located in the lower shopping area, behind Calvin Klein near the vending machines and restrooms on the southeast side.
