Randall’s Island Park Alliance Unveils Redesigned Website and Expanded Public Programming
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 11, 2016 -- The Randall’s Island Park Alliance (RIPA) today announced the launch of a new, redesigned version of its website, http://www.Randallsisland.org. Key features of the site include a refreshed and more attractive design, a more engaging user experience with enhanced content and navigation, and a minute-long video highlighting the many features of the Park including: aerial views of some of its 60+ athletic fields, the IAAF certified tracks at Icahn Stadium, the 20+ tennis courts at the Sportime Tennis Center, home of the John McEnroe Tennis Academy, the Urban Farm Program and many more Park features.
Along with the new website, RIPA published its 2016 public events calendar, detailing over 100 free public programs including signature events such as the Cherry Blossom Festival, FLOW.16 and the island wide Treasure Hunt. In expanding the programming from 15 to 188 events in just two years, RIPA has added over 100 new walking tours, Exploration Days, Outdoor Movie Nights and Fitness Activities – all open and free to the public.
Aimee Boden, President of the Randall’s Island Park Alliance and NYC Park Administrator for Randall’s Island Park, commented, “The site's refreshed and upbeat look, combined with enhanced content, improved search functionality, and optimization for mobile devices allows potential visitors to stay current with the new and wonderful events we have planned at the Park throughout the year. It’s a terrific way to celebrate our upcoming 25th anniversary as the dedicated steward of Randall’s Island Park.”
Boden added, "We want to offer as many options to the residents of New York City as possible, fostering an increased understanding and appreciation for the Park, as well as our environment. The tremendous ramp up in programming, as well as improved public outreach via our new versatile website, helps us achieve this goal.”
John McEnroe, a long-time supporter of Randall’s Island Park where his McEnroe Tennis Academy is located, said, “The island has undergone an amazing transformation in the past few years and I’m happy to be a part of it. The park is beautiful and full of families and children enjoying the great facilities and green space as the result of Randall’s Island Park Alliance’s work. With the increase of free public programming, the island should attract more and more people.”
The new website design is fully accessible immediately (http://www.Randallsisland.org).
