Chromalox Introduces New High Pressure Cast Circulation Heater
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) April 12, 2016 -- Chromalox, a leader in advanced thermal technologies, today announced the introduction of their newest circulation heater product with the new CCX model line. The CCX is uniquely designed to handle high pressure applications up to 7500 psi (517 bar). The heating elements are directly set in an aluminum casting, which allows efficient heat transfer. In addition, the process media are completely isolated from the elements, eliminating potential concerns for excessive, hot spots, sheath corrosion, or process leakage.
The CCX heater is part of the XtremeDuty™ platform for its ability to handle high pressures, while providing ASME and PED pressure certification. In addition, the marine grade casting is suitable for salt-laden environment such as offshore platforms. Lastly, the unit has an explosion-proof terminal enclosure option, rated IECex and ATEX.
The CCX heater is primarily targeted for users in the Power Generation, Petrochemical and Mid-Stream Oil & Gas markets to heat seal gas for high pressure seals, along with similar usage in compressors, turbines, or other rotating equipment. This prevents any moisture from damaging the seals when operating at high pressures. It is also used for heating gases prior to pressure reduction valves to avoid freezing or condensation buildup.
Mark Wheeler, Global Product Director of Packaged Systems and Service says that the CCX model comes with power ratings from 3 to 30kW and in voltages up to 690V. He states, “The CCX adds to our XtremeDutyTM product line, which are engineered to reliably operate in the toughest of conditions. Being able to offer an ATEX and IECex certification for heating needs in hazardous locations is something our customers require for the utmost safety in harsh environments.”
