The University of Kansas Hospital Chooses Voalte for Enterprise-Wide Clinical Communication and Alert Notification

The multiphase project involves rolling out Voalte solutions on 1,355 Apple® iPhone 6S smartphones across 50 units with a total of 623 patient beds. More than 3,500 staff and resident physicians will communicate and receive Phillips physiological monitor and Hill-Rom nurse call alerts via their Voalte smartphones. Approximately 500 physicians and others working outside the hospital will connect to the care team using secure texting via Voalte Me™ on their personal smartphones.
The enterprise-wide expansion of Voalte Platform comes after a successful pilot on the hospital’s Neuroscience/ENT Progressive Care Unit.
“During the initial deployment, the Voalte system was part of a significant improvement in our patient call response times, which in turn increases patient satisfaction,” said Drew Rush, Project Manager at The University of Kansas Hospital. “Our results show patient call response time improves by 24 seconds when using Voalte solutions.”
