Cary, NC (PRWEB) April 13, 2016 -- Accreditation University (AU), a division of Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), will hold a USP 800 Compliance workshop at its headquarters in Cary, NC on May 19, 2016. The workshop, hosted by Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB), will give an overview of USP 800 and discuss practical steps for implementation. The one-day workshop will be instructed by leading industry experts including ACHC Associate Director of Pharmacy – PCAB Division, Jon Pritchett, Pharm D., and nationally recognized expert in non-sterile and sterile compounding pharmacy, Joe Cabaleiro, RPh.
AU is a division of ACHC that focuses resources within the organization to provide a full range of educational offerings that meet the individual needs of providers. As such, the USP 800 Compliance workshop offers guidance on the impact that USP 800 Hazardous Drug standards will have on pharmacies. USP 800 was recently approved, and all pharmacies should be in compliance by July, 1, 2018. This workshop will cover strategies to achieve USP 800 compliance, look at relevant case studies, review proposed changes to USP 797, assist in the identification of hazardous drugs, and facilitate a mock root cause analysis.
With broad and extensive experience in the area of pharmacy compliance, including accreditation programs for non-sterile and sterile compounding, infusion, specialty, and long term care pharmacy services, ACHC is positioned to be a leading organization for USP 800 compliance. “This workshop will cover every aspect of USP 800 and reveal the critical steps your pharmacy should take now to prepare” said Jon Pritchett. “Though implementation is not until 2018, the standards are comprehensive and may require significant facility updates.”
