Christie® , a leader in creating and delivering the world’s best visual and audio experiences, is pleased to announce the launch of the Christie Vive Audio™ LS Series 4-way screen channel and 2-way surround loudspeakers at CinemaCon 2016. Featuring planar ribbon driver technology with its low distortion and superior transient response characteristics, LS Series screen channels are single-enclosure designs and ideal for most 5.1 and 7.1 distributed sound applications. Providing unparalleled timbre matching between screen and surround channels, LS Series enclosures offer a cost-effective entry into superior cinema sound. Christie will be demonstrating the impressive sound of the LS Series in the Milano 1 ballroom at CinemaCon.
“The Vive Audio LS Series is built upon the proven performance of Christie Vive Audio LA Series cinema loudspeakers and is ideal for distributed audio applications in small to mid-sized auditoriums,” says Phil Sanchez, senior product manager, Christie. “The highly efficient design of LS Series enclosures enables exhibitors and integrators to use smaller amplifier configurations without sacrificing output, resulting in even greater overall cost savings.”
There are six models in the Vive Audio LS Series lineup. These include the LS1 and LS2 screen channel loudspeakers, as well as the LS1S, LS2S, LS4S and LS5S surround channel loudspeakers. Rotatable waveguides on the LS Series screen channels supports deployment in low profile situations or for use as corner surrounds in larger 5.1 applications. Their single-enclosure design ensures quick deployment and reduced labor costs and their shallow depth enables deployment in even the narrowest of behind-screen spaces. Moreover, manufactured by Christie, the LS Series loudspeakers are a perfect complement to Christie’s award-winning digital cinema projection systems and, when combined, offer a complete, single-source exhibition solution.
“The Vive Audio LS Series is an ideal choice for exhibitors seeking to upgrade their cinema sound at a competitive price, without sacrificing quality and reliability,” adds Sanchez.
