"Behind The Scenes", with James Earl Jones, highlights Adult Literacy for Public Television
(PRWEB) April 13, 2016 -- Behind the Scenes is enlightening people everywhere about matters of national importance. With the help of their host, James Earl Jones (The Sandlot, Star Wars,) they'll be tackling the problems of adult literacy in their new segment. Reading can take people to new heights, both in their personal and professional worlds. With the rate of adults who are unable to understand the written word, it's important to remind people that this is a problem they can do something about.
Between volunteer groups and continued education, adults have options about where to go to learn to read. However, it's easier in some areas than in others. Also, many adults who have failed to read at a high level or have regressed perceive a stigma, and oftentimes ignore their own illiteracy in an attempt to avoid attention. However, studies have shown that the vast majority of job positions across the US require adequate written language skills, and those who are left without the ability to read significantly hinder their own ability to contribute to various industries. "Behind The Scenes" will look into the organizations and individuals who are helping to eliminate this problem.
Behind the Scenes is not affiliated with PBS or APT, but the segments are each shown on Public Television stations.
