New 1 Million for Work Flexibility Video Showcases Flexible Work Benefits
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) April 13, 2016 -- 1 Million for Work Flexibility, the first national initiative to create a collective voice in support of work flexibility, has released a new video highlighting the broad range of reasons workers need flexible workplace policies -- as well as the business sense behind providing work flex.
“Work flexibility is something that is wanted by all kinds of people from all walks of life and for all types of reasons,” said Sara Sutton Fell, the founder of 1 Million for Work Flexibility, FlexJobs and Remote.co. “Our goal of 1 Million is to get a million people to raise their hands in support of work flexibility because we believe in the power of numbers -- the more people who bring their voice to the table, the more we can actually get done.”
Our workplace model is based on antiquated views of a two-parent household where one parent worked and one stayed home, Sutton Fell added.
In the video, Mika Cross, a federal workplace policy strategist, shares her experience as a working mom in the military and how flexible work policies allow people to do their best work.
“It might look a little different. It might feel a little different,” Cross said. “But at the end of the day it’s how you’re accomplishing and facilitating work getting done, by giving people the choice to be able to give you their best so that they can take care of the things that are important to them.”
From increased employee engagement and productivity to attracting and retaining the best workers, employers too are realizing the positive impact flexible work can have.
“We believe that the very best talent is just -- it’s everywhere. We need to be flexible,” said Lorin Thomas Tavel, Chief Operating Officer of Kaplan Test Prep. “We need to allow for virtual working, work from home -- so that we can get the very best talent for every role.”
