Bakersfield, CA (PRWEB) April 13, 2016 -- On Saturday, April 9, Toys for Tots Bakersfield suffered a devastating loss; more than $25,000 worth of toys were stolen from their warehouse, according to Toys for Tots representative Thuy Vi Vu. This organization generously helps more than 18,000 children in Kern County and this senseless act of violence will now make it more difficult for them to do so. To alleviate this hardship, ARRC Technology is holding a 3-day toy drive to benefit Toys for Tots Bakersfield.
“I’m still in shock that someone in Bakersfield would even consider stealing from Toys for Tots, let alone actually following through with it,” said Shane Swanson, COO of ARRC Technology. “At ARRC Technology we strive to do everything we can to help our community and when we heard about what happened to Toys for Tots we knew we needed to do our part to help. We are reaching out to our employees, our clients, and the community to donate. We want to everything possible to get Toys for Tots back on their feet.”
While Toys for Tots will be more than happy to accept toy donations for any gender, the majority of the items stolen were for girls, ages 0-15, in the Bakersfield community. Thuy Vi Vu suggests that the community consider donating gender neutral sporting goods, games, and electronics. For teenage girls they suggest cosmetic sets, hair accessories and tools, purses, and jewelry accessories.
ARRC Technology is located by the Market Place at 1600 Mill Rock Way, Bakersfield, CA 93311, and invites the Bakersfield community to come on down to donate. The toy drive will be held Wednesday, April 13 to Friday, April 15, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
