LivWell Announces Company-wide Responsible Vendor Certification Requirement in Anticipation of World Cannabis Week and 4/20
Denver, CO (PRWEB) April 14, 2016 -- In advance of World Cannabis Week and 4/20 celebrations, LivWell Enlightened Health today announced all members of its retail staff have completed the Sell-SMaRT™ Responsible Vendor Training to ensure customers are provided the best retail experience while remaining compliant with new laws for selling recreational and medical marijuana. This training is in addition to the already robust education employees receive through LivWell University, the company’s primary employee instruction platform.
The Sell-SMaRT™ training is the first Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division-approved Responsible Vendor Program for marijuana sales, but it is not yet a required curriculum. The program teaches the essentials for safe and responsible cannabis sales, giving retail staff tools to effectively mitigate the risks and liabilities associated with cannabis retail operations. This day-long course addresses marijuana laws and regulations, safety and security, ID checks and consumer safety and education. This training also teaches LivWell staff how to safely handle difficult situations that include on-premise consumption, refusing sales, customers under the influence and potential violence.
“At LivWell, we strive to be industry leaders across all categories, from the products we produce to the customer experience we deliver,” said John Lord, LivWell Enlightened Health’s owner and CEO. “We are currently the only cannabis company in Colorado that requires Responsible Vendor Certification for all retail staff and we do that as an obligation, both to our customers and the cannabis industry, to continue to set the gold-standard for customer service, compliance and safety.”
In anticipation of 4/20, LivWell has also partnered with The Fitch Foundation, an organization that helps transition injured veterans back into society through specialized sports. LivWell will donate $1 for every sale completed on 4/20 in all 14 of their locations to The Fitch Foundation. LivWell completed thousands of transactions on the 4/20 Holiday in 2015, and expects to see even more customers this year.
“4/20 is the biggest day of the year for the cannabis industry and we wanted to use it as an opportunity to give back to the community,” said Lord. “It is truly an honor to be in a position where we are capable of making a difference and we are very proud to partner with The Fitch Foundation.”
