Girl Entrepreneurs Get Chance to Sell with ivivva
Manhasset, New York (PRWEB) April 16, 2016 -- ivivva of Long Island, lululemon’s fast-growing girls athletic brand, and The Fashion Class in Merrick have partnered up for Young Entrepreneur Week in an effort to inspire business minded young ladies and teach them that it's never too early to start growing their brand.
"We see a lot of our students developing a huge interest in entrepreneurship, they love making things but it doesn't stop there, they want to create products for their parents and friends too!" says Kerri Quigley, owner of The Fashion Class, a studio for children and teens that teaches sewing and fashion design classes.
Designed for ages six through fourteen, Young Entrepreneur week will showcase three kid run businesses each day over four days. Kicking off with a free business workshop at The Fashion Class participants will then set up their tables, marketing materials and wares during Spring Break with the goal of selling to their peers, other tweens, who shop ivivva's athletic wear.
"The idea for Young Entrepreneurs Week came from the observation that as a community, we have a lot of girls with an excitement for the fashion component of ivivva." Says Gina Bethany, Showroom Manager for ivivva of Manhasset. "When I got into conversation with Kerri, owner of The Fashion Class, and got to know a few of the girls within her program, the idea came pretty naturally to collaborate and bring entrepreneurial spirit to life. When we create events for our community, we focus on supporting the girls. Our goal is to create a platform to launch their creativity and instill confidence."
Brooke, an eight year old 'girl boss' whose brand Sew Brooke will be featured at Young Entrepreneur Week creates pillows and handbags when she's not in school. "After making pillows at a workshop Brooke decided she wanted to make pillows at home," explains her mom Abby. "Family and friends started asking her to make them pillows with specific colors and patterns and so our entrepreneur was born."
Applications are open through April 22nd for kids who love to make unique and well designed products. Interested young entrepreneurs can apply online at: http://thefashionclass.com/about-us/young-entrepreneur-week/
