NG Turf Announces the Hiring of Eddie Ott as Farm Manager for their Calhoun Turfgrass Farm
Whitesburg, GA (PRWEB) April 18, 2016 -- Marvin “Eddie” Ott joined the NG Turf team on April 1, 2016. As manager of NG Turf’s Calhoun farm , he manages all day-to-day operations and the overall quality control of the TifTuf™ and Tifway-419 bermudagrasses, Zeon zoysia, and Rebel Supreme fescue grasses grown there.
Eddie is a fourth-generation farmer and brings a lifetime of experience to NG Turf. He grew up on his family’s row crop farm where they grew cotton, peanuts, and soybeans. His professional career includes experience as a supervisor for a sod fertilizer company, where he sold fertilizer and made recommendations to farmers while overseeing product blending and custom applications. Eddie holds both commercial and private pesticide licenses.
Most recently, Eddie has been manager of Ott Farms in South Carolina – a twenty-five hundred acre corn, soybean, cotton, and peanut farm. “I love farming in South Carolina, my home state,” explains Eddie, “but crop farming has struggled with the recent droughts and floods. I am looking forward to great future in Georgia with NG Turf.”
Eddie continues, “My focus will be on continuing to provide the excellent quality turfgrass products NG Turf is known for by applying current best practices in turfgrass farming and keeping up with the latest advances in the industry.”
“I believe that much of NG Turf’s success comes from the solid team of professionals they’ve attracted over the years,” adds Eddie.
“From sales and marketing, to customer service, and everyone working out on the farms, you’ll find people who have been with NG Turf for years. That says a lot about the quality of the company, their commitment to one another, and an superior products. I hope to build equally long-lasting relationships at NG Turf.”
“We are grateful to have Eddie join our team,” says Aaron McWhorter, president of NG Turf. “He has a great set of skills and comes highly recommended by those he’s worked for in the past.”
