So many of the machinists that I speak with love it because it drives more revenue for them. They’re able to take on more job types and do more with the jobs already in the door.

CAD-CAM software developer, BobCAD-CAM, has announced a new webinar to offer professional tips and insight into creative machining with artistic CAD.
The Senior Technical Advisor at BobCAD-CAM, Cody Sheppard, will be hosting the live event to provide a variety of easy strategies and toolsets that machinists can use to incorporate artistic components into their CNC machined parts. He’ll be using the new BobART artistic CAD software for the demonstration.
- Turning Hand Drawn Sketches into Toolpath Programming
- Applying Artistic Components to 3D Surfaces
- Embossing 2D Artwork (Images, Logos, etc.)
- Creating Composite Designs Using Individual Embossed Components
- Engraving Text & Images
“Artistic CAD is one of my favorite applications,” explains Cody Sheppard. “It’s packed with tons of great tools that allow you to get really creative with your machining. So many of the machinists that I speak with love it because it drives more revenue for them. They’re able to take on more job types and do more with the jobs already in the door.”
BobART software is available as an add-on module for BobCAD-CAM’s flagship CAD-CAM product and can now be used in the company’s plug-in CAM product for SOLIDWORKS™ - BobCAM. The BobART plug-in for SOLIDWORKS is a brand new product, which released with the company’s BobCAM V5 software in December 2015. It’s the first art machining software of its kind for SOLIDWORKS.
