Working with the kids on self-made toys from everyday objects and witnessing their level of creativity really inspired me.
Brooklyn, New York (PRWEB) April 19, 2016
Today Toyish Labs launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise a minimum of $60,000 over 30 days for its namesake products – themed kits to enable kids as young as three years old, to design and build their own toys. It is now available on Kickstarter, starting at $20 USD.
Toyish inspires kids to be active creators rather than passive consumers. The hands-on STEAM toy kits thoughtfully combine art and building. They are designed to stretch attention spans, boost artistic skills, promote logical thinking and develop self-confidence, all considered to be key components in STEAM curriculum ensuring kids’ future success.
“Toyish was born in 2012 when I was invited to teach Toy Design classes at a school in Harlem as part of the CityArts program. Working with the kids on self-made toys from everyday objects and witnessing their level of creativity really inspired me. I returned to my studio with a new approach. My focus became on how to recreate that feeling of accomplishment - where each child got the chance to express their uniqueness,” said Assaf Eshet, Founder and CEO of Toyish.
There are five - Toyish kits themes: Champions, Dancers, Astronauts, Drivers and Foodies. Each comes with a coloring playbook, a clear capsule that houses the child’s original design, themed play parts and playful magnetic characters. Kids make their own artwork, and mix and match pieces to build their own toy in limitless combinations.
In celebration of kids' creativity, Toyish:
- Inspires kids to be active hands-on creators.
- Empowers kids to have self-confidence and be proud of their creations.
- Stimulates children's curiosity and imagination.
- Encourages collaborative play.
The Toyish team is comprised of highly experienced designers, engineers, educators and operation professionals. Together, they have conceptualized, designed and tested their toys with over a hundred kids since 2013. Last year, Toyish won the prestigious Red Dot Award for Educational Design Concept and the Working Mother “Best in Play” Award.
Toyish Labs’ crowdfunding campaign runs from April 19 until May 19, 2016. For a full rundown of the pledge levels visit their Kickstarter page.
