Advantage Engineers Expands Geotechnical Services Team; Provides services for Banner Hill Luxury Apartments Development in Baltimore, Maryland
Columbia, Maryland (PRWEB) April 19, 2016 -- Advantage Engineers, a leading provider of specialized engineering services, is proud to announce Wayne Tucker, P.E. has joined the firm as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer and will supplement their existing geotechnical design and construction-phase observation and testing services group in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. markets. Mr. Tucker’s hiring is a part of the firm’s strategy to expand the geotechnical services department across the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States.
Mr. Tucker joins Advantage with over 16 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, construction quality assurance and construction materials testing and inspection services. Mr. Tucker holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Temple University and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Concentration) from Lehigh University. Mr. Tucker is licensed as a Professional Engineer in nine states and in the District of Columbia.
”We are extremely happy to have Wayne join our team,” said Jeff Wieboldt, Advantage Geotechnical Department Manager. “Wayne’s engineering expertise, market experience and leadership further enhances our established team and will only continue to help foster the growth and development of the geotechnical division in the Baltimore-Washington D.C. metro area.”
Mr. Tucker will serve as Advantage’s Senior Geotechnical Engineer on the firm's newest project, the Banner Hill Luxury Apartments development in Otterbein near the Baltimore Inner Harbor. The project developer (ZOM Mid-Atlantic) will be developing the six-story 349-unit apartment building featuring an underground 331-space parking garage. The 2.2-acre property was the former home of a specialty hospital owned by the University of Maryland Medical Center. Advantage was retained by the General Contractor, Clark Builders Group, to provide geotechnical and construction materials testing and observation services during construction.
Advantage’s scope of work for this project will include providing materials testing and observation services during the installation of the temporary excavation support system, spread footing foundation construction, earthwork and utility backfill placement, and both reinforced and pre-cast concrete construction. Advantage began work at the site in December 2015 and expects to complete the project in late 2016.
