Micro Encoder Inc. was founded on May 6, 1986 by Ingvar Andermo, one of the early inventors of an electronic displacement measurement technology that today is used in hundreds of millions of measurement tools around the globe. These tools are used to make and test a variety of products that affect people’s lives every day, including aircraft engines, cars, medical equipment, smartphones, and many others.
Over the past 30 years, Micro Encoder Inc. has steadily grown to 86 team members, and now develops new technologies and software across all of Mitutoyo’s product lines, including coordinate measuring machines, vision measurement systems, linear gages, calipers, micrometers, encoders, and high precision sensor systems. The company’s work is protected by a portfolio of close to 300 patents.
