New York, NY (PRWEB) April 18, 2016
Campbell McLaren, founder of Combate Americas, today announced the signing of a multi-year deal to show Combate Americas mixed martial arts events in English live on UFC FIGHT PASS. The first Combate Americas card to be shown on UFC FIGHT PASS will be Monday, April 18 starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
“I am pleased to announce we’ve signed a deal to present Combate Americas events live on UFC FIGHT PASS,” said McLaren. “This is an exciting day for our young, talented Hispanic athletes, and a historic day for the Combate Americas organization. For me, this is a most special day, and I am grateful to Dana White, Lorenzo Fertitta and Marshall Zelaznik for working with me to make this deal happen. It is an honor to have the world’s largest digital combat sports channel as the new English-language home for Combate Americas.”
"We are thrilled to add Combate Americas to UFC FIGHT PASS' ever-growing list of live-event and on-demand offerings," said Marshall Zelaznik, Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer Marshall Zelaznik. "MMA fans can expect tremendous fights featuring up-and-coming Hispanic talent."
McLaren, one of the original creators of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, founded Combate Americas in 2012. For the past four years, he has been building Combate Americas into a respected, successful promotion devoted to the Hispanic community in the United States.
Combate Americas features the most fearsome, emerging Hispanic MMA fighters, including Imagen Award-winning Combate Americas reality series contestant and professional boxer Ricky “El Gallero” Palacios (5-1 MMA, 2-0-1 boxing), Urijah Faber protégé Erick Sanchez (6-2), John “Sexy Mexy” Castaneda (9-2) and women’s atomweight standout and Eddie Bravo pupil Kyra “Mogwai” Batara (4-3).
Tonight’s card will mark the third event in the “Road To The Championship” series, which kicked off September 17, 2015 in Las Vegas. The series pits competitors in each weight class in a tournament format to see who will be crowned the first-ever Combate Americas Champion.
The Combate Americas English language commentators for the April 18 card will be veteran analyst Ray Flores, along with the professional MMA athletes Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc and Gustavo Lopez.
