ClickBid, a pioneering mobile bidding service that helps charities boost their fundraising, has hit the milestone of 1,000 annual events.

In addition, the company announced today that it has made available flat rate pricing of $500 per event.

ClickBid founder and CEO Matthew Burnell said, “We want to provide mobile bidding for any charity auction large or small because it is proven to raise at least 30 percent more than using old-fashioned silent auction paper sheets.”

ClickBid enables guests at charity events to place bids using their smartphones. Instead of having to return to a fixed location and check a paper sheet they receive alerts if they are outbid.

ClickBid can also be used to participate in live auctions and charities can set it up to make ticket sales or receive donations at appeal only events.

Said Burnell, “It’s kind of like a private eBay for charities. But we have gone further and innovated the entire fundraising experience into not only mobile bidding, but also mobile giving. It’s a huge win for charities providing them a simple way to boost the amount they raise.”

Since launching ClickBid in 2002 as a part-time venture the company has always been at the forefront of electronic bidding. Its first events used desktops at fixed locations before progressing to Wi-Fi (before Wi-Fi was readily available). The common use of smartphones has made the service even more popular.

Added Burnell, “We have really led the pack in using technology. We have always been way ahead of the curve. We have the easiest to use and easiest to manage program available. From day one we have been crazy simple.”

Other companies in the industry take a percentage of the amount raised at auctions but ClickBid has led the way again in charging fixed prices per event as low as $500 which are further reduced the more often a charity uses them.

Burnell said, “Our attitude is that the charity should make as much money as possible. It should not be punished for raising more funds.”

ClickBid’s steady growth means that it is now on target to handle 1,500 events in 2016.
