Newtown Square, PA and Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) April 19, 2016
Petplan pet insurance today announced a new partnership agreement with the Registered Veterinary Technologists and Technicians of Canada (RVTTC). The RVTTC, which encompasses six provincial veterinary technician/technologist associations and over 6,000 individual RVTs, has partnered with Petplan as a result of the company’s dedication to supporting veterinary professionals through their annual Veterinary Awards and veterinary appreciation initiatives.
Joining paws with Petplan will help RVTs within the RVTTC raise client awareness about the benefits of protecting pets with insurance, including coverage for unexpected vet bills and the peace of mind that financial considerations never have to limit the care their pet receives. In addition to information about Petplan’s policy offerings, members will also receive pet health tips, education, product information and details about Petplan’s Veterinary Awards for their digital marketing.
“This partnership presents a huge opportunity to provide value to the veterinary technologist and technician community in Canada,” says Bill Skubovius, Vice President, Canadian Market at Petplan. “We’re truly excited to recognize these hard-working professionals and students and give them the support and tools they need to advance in their careers and keep the pets they care for thriving.”
To aid in the advancement of student technicians and technologists, Petplan will provide an annual educational scholarship of $3,000 to be distributed among students who exemplify compassionate care, go above and beyond to improve the profession and demonstrate considerable academic strength. Additionally, RVTTC members will have access to Petplan Veterinary Services Representatives to schedule a webinar, lunch and learn or a personal visit, and they’re eligible for a 20% veterinary professionals discount if they choose to protect their own pets with Petplan insurance.
“RVTs play a key role in the veterinary practice environment, from providing initial information on pet insurance to assisting clients throughout the claims process. They are vital contributors to the success of our industry and we greatly value their support,” says Skubovius.
“It is a pleasure to work with a company that values the contributions of RVTs and their dedication toward their patients,” said Shannon Browning, Executive Director of RVTTC. “The opportunity to collaborate with Petplan offers a way to advance the education of new RVTs, provide eligible RVTs an affordable choice for insurance benefits and arm them with high quality in-clinic resources to help provide superior care to their patients.”

ABOUT THE RVTTC
The Registered Veterinary Technologists and Technicians of Canada (RVTTC) is a not-for-profit organization uniting provincial/regional veterinary technician and technologist associations. Founded in 1989 as the Canadian Association of Animal Health Technologists and Technicians (CAAHTT), RVTTC is tasked with promoting the veterinary technologist profession, establishing and maintaining national standards of membership, and becoming a resource regarding national and international issues. By supporting members and becoming a valuable resource to bind the veterinary technology profession, the RVTTC hopes to facilitate positive change for RVTs across Canada. It is their firm belief that when RVTs, RVT associations and Veterinary Associations work together to improve the animal health care team, they can augment the lives of patients and improve animal welfare on a global level.
