Virsig Receives Federal Certification as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB)
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 22, 2016 -- Virsig is proud to announce that it is officially certified and verified by the U.S. Veterans Administration (VA) as a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and is now eligible to participate in the Veterans First Contracting Program. Based in New York City, Virsig is a network-centric technology company and systems integrator that maintains a distinctive focus on bridging physical and logical security.
The SDVOSB certification is reserved for business owners that have served in the military, and have a verified service-related disability. Brian Valenza, Virsig’s CEO said, “This is an extremely important aspect of Virsig’s identity, we’re honored to have the SDVOSB designation and to be able to participate in this program.” Valenza, a US Naval Academy graduate, served as a Navy Seal Officer during the Global War on Terror and completed his service with the Naval Special Warfare Command at the Pentagon.
First certified in 2015 as a State of New York Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business, Virsig has gone on to develop contracts with several New York municipalities, hospitals, law enforcement agencies, educational institutions and the business sector. Today, Virsig looks forward to working together with the federal government. "We’re excited about the future; our expansion of federal services—as a trusted government partner, is a positive development for Virsig,” said Shelomo Alfassa, Director of Communications.
The goal of the stringent certification process is to thoroughly ensure only qualified service-disabled veterans, that are majority owners of small businesses, can qualify for certain government projects and non-competitive contracting opportunities. Two of the primary benefits of SDVOSB are allowing companies to obtain sole source contracts up to $5M and allowing them to apply for government Set-Aside contracts.

Virsig leverages the strength of the IP Network—the backbone of any infrastructure or security system. As a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, information transport systems laden with associated peripherals (e.g. digital voice, data, video, sensory, etc.) are only as strong as the network they’re on. Virsig monitors and maintains these networks, ensuring information technology and business personnel have reliable and dependable 24 hour access to their information.
