Public Insight, whose software optimizes the utility of public data sets for decision making and research, today announced the release of its April 2016 update. This update includes OmniView, a new premium subscriber analytical tool built from the ground-up for broad, comprehensive analysis using any combination of data sources, metrics, dates, and entities. The company also announced the release of new health content packs which are licensed subscriber-only data sets from American Hospital Association® and Optum®.

OmniView is customizable, distilling large amounts of data in seconds. OmniView can be used in a variety of ways. For example, a college evaluating new programs can analyze the related job market for the proposed new program and discover other colleges offering the same program in just a few minutes. A county agency can benchmark against socio-economic characteristics across a region using diverse health and economic data. OmniView is provided as a premium analytical tool to existing Elite, Insight, or Premium subscribers at no additional charge.

Health content packs integrate with the public data sets and leverage the Public Insight analytical tools. For example, the American Hospital Association® Annual Survey brings together the characteristics of leading hospitals and integrates with quality and procedure data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. When used in conjunction with OmniView, virtually any type of analysis is possible. For example, a medical device company could discover all hospitals performing a certain procedure and analyze key metrics in just a few minutes.

The April 2016 update also includes the branding and enhancement of Public Insight’s free data comparison tool, Data Browser. Registered users will automatically be able to access the Data Browser tool and expanded features.
