Since 2012, 21 South Bar and Grille, located at 21 South Hope Chapel Road, Jackson Township, New Jersey has served sports and entertainment lovers in Ocean County with food, drink, sports and live entertainment, establishing itself as one of the most popular social destinations in the area. 21 South provided an exceptional dining experience within the confines of a city-like, lounge atmosphere equipped with contemporary decor, lighting and sound systems. The restaurant transformed the local sports bar into a lifestyle venue catering to the young professional who enjoys an extraordinary experience in the midst of catching his/her favorite sporting event.

According to Joseph Denker, of Bielat Santore & Company, Allenhurst, New Jersey, the agent involved in the sale, the restaurant has been sold to a group headed up by Mark Chen, owner of Koi Asian Fusion Lounge in Brick Township, New Jersey and will be closed for approximately three weeks for renovations, reopening as Cornerstone Kitchen & Tap. “The former owner of 21 South, Randy Holt, did an amazing job with his place, but being the consummate entrepreneur, Randy has several other projects on the horizon which required his full attention” continues Denker; “thus the reason for the sale.”

Cornerstone Kitchen & Tap is the latest venture for restauranteur Mark Chen. Chen’s Koi Asian Fusion is cuisine that combines elements of different culinary traditions. Fusion food is a general term for the combination of various forms of cookery and comes in several forms. Regional fusion combines different cuisines of a region or sub-region into a single eating new experience. In his new restaurant, Chen is planning to combine regional American fused cuisine in conjunction with an extensive line of craft beers. The menu will be family friendly, including several options prepared with farm to table ingredients for the health conscious diner. A renovated bar will feature 26 craft beers on tap. Chen is committed to serving delicious food at affordable prices, in a comfortable neighborhood atmosphere.

Cornerstone Kitchen & Tap is scheduled to open seven days a week for lunch and dinner during the first week of May 2016.
