We are excited to see so many more children participating in 2016 and benefiting from the Creative Play offered by the Big Blue Blocks.

Imagination Playground, LLC, http://www.imaginationplayground.com, creators of the breakthrough play space concept that encourages child-directed, unstructured free play, is observing a surge in creative entries from children participating in their 2016 Build-A-Thon contest. Since opening for submissions in January, 2016, Build-A-Thon has received hundreds entries, entering at five times the rate as in the first few months of their 2015 contest.

Build-A-Thon encourages kids to create with Imagination Playground Big Blue Blocks, and submit images of their builds to win prizes. For the 2016 contest, children have submitted a wide variety of builds ranging from medieval-style castles to vehicles and abstract art.

The contest is open to kids aged 2-10 and there are two easy ways to participate. One is by visiting any of Imagination Playground’s Partners in Play locations. The second is by building with Imagination Playground’s 3D Builder App, available for free download for Apple or Android mobile devices.

David Krishock, Imagination Playground President and CEO said, “We are excited to see so many more children participating and benefiting from the Creative Play offered by Imagination Playground Big Blue Blocks. This contest is such an important part of our mission, to spread the news on play, and get 3 million more kids playing in 2016.“

Prizes include a Grand Prize of an all-expense-paid trip to build at the Imagination Playground Park in New York City and a 105-piece set of Imagination Playground Big Blue Blocks. There are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes for both digital and physical builds—over 500 winners in all. Builders can win for themselves or support their favorite organization (school, church, daycare, community center) by nominating them to receive the Imagination Playground they are awarded.

Children can submit photos of as many physical builds or app screen designs as they like, between now and December 16, 2016.
