G7, China’s leading provider of logistics data services, has been selected as a finalist in the category of Telematics Service Provider of the Year in TU-Automotive’s 2016 Awards. The awards recognize leading companies in the connected car and fleet space. Finalists are selected based on their innovation, industry engagement, user experience, and industry reaction. Over 400 companies submitted applications.
“The judges ranked G7 highly mostly in terms of innovation and market uptake as they were quite impressed with G7’s penetration of the Chinese market, “ stated Emilie Leblanc, Awards Director.
G7 has been developing solutions for China’s logistics industry since 2011, when it first created a basic fleet tracking system. Today, solutions include G7 Smart, an in-cab hardware box that houses a GPS tracker, six-axis gyroscope, and links with cargo sensors and video cameras. Through this, fleet managers can remotely monitor delivery status, fuel efficiency and driver safety. In addition, they can assist drivers with services such as “topping-up” driver mobile phones with fuel and toll credits. 80% of China’s large logistics companies currently use G7 services and products.
“E-Commerce is booming in China today; on Singles’ Day alone, Chinese consumers spent $14b shopping on a single website. Fulfilling these orders falls on China’s 21 million delivery vehicles, 95% of which belong to small and mid-size fleets. G7 gives those fleet owners access to the same technical advances used by the big players, raising the standards of the entire industry as a whole,” said Zhai Xuehun, CEO of G7. “TU-Automotive’s recognition is a testimony to the spirit and dedication of our loyal team, vendors, and customers who, together, are committed to improving China’s logistics landscape. It is a tremendous honor for us.”
