Smarter Alloys Announces Commercial Launch of SmartArch Orthodontic Archwire
Waterloo, Ontario (PRWEB) April 26, 2016 -- Smarter Alloys™ today announced the commercial launch of their new SmartArch™ orthodontic archwire. Effective immediately, SmartArch is available for purchase in the United States through the official online store http://www.smartarchortho.com. “After years of scientific study, experimental development and collaboration with our partners, we’re excited to finally make the most advanced archwire in the world available to orthodontists,” said Dr. Michael Kuntz, VP Marketing and Product Development.
SmartArch is a revolutionary new archwire that is programmed to express the biomechanically optimized force at each tooth, offering significant improvements over traditional multiforce archwires currently on the market. By tailoring the stiffness of the wire to match the needs of individual teeth, treatment efficiency can be increased, resulting in faster treatments and fewer office visits for wire changes.
SmartArch archwires are created using an advanced laser treatment process to encode the correct tooth-moving forces in each interbracket region. Through collaborative research with biomechanics experts Dr. Charles Burstone and Dr. Rodrigo Viecilli, the SmartArch Universal stiffness profile was optimized considering each tooth's spacing and root support.
“The concept of variable stiffness orthodontics was first championed by renowned researcher Dr. Burstone in the 1970s,” said Dr. Ibraheem Khan, founder and CEO of Smarter Alloys. “Today, we can finally realize this vision using Smarter Alloys’ technology.”
SmartArch is available in a pack of 10 archwires, which retails for US$250. The archwires will be available for special introductory pricing at the upcoming American Association of Orthodontists Annual Session in Orlando, Florida from April 29 to May 3. In addition to online sales, SmartArch will soon be available soon through distribution partners, including Patterson Dental.
