A Call to Action to Bring the First Cat Cafe to Arizona
TEMPE, ARIZONA (PRWEB) April 27, 2016 -- La Gattara Cat Cafe & Wine Bar aims to launch the first cat cafe in the Valley of the Sun. Full of purrs, tasty beverages and scrumptious treats, the cat cafe gives people the chance to interact with adorable cats that are also up for adoption. La Gattara needs your contribution to make this happen. La Gattara currently has a fundraising campaign on Kickstarter ending on May 20, 2016 at http://kck.st/1SfcM9Y.
La Gattara, an Italian word loosely translated to mean “crazy cat lady,” is the brainchild of Co-Owner Melissa Pruitt a self-described cat lady. As Pruitt explains, “My love for cats is in my blood. My dad, who was a police chief in Illinois, was honored for his dedication to animal rights and welfare. He kept cat food in his squad car and fed all the local alley cats. I have dedicated my life to cat adoption and educating people about cats, and my dream is to have a safe place for people and cats to have nothing but Peace, Love and Meow.”
Pruitt, plans to open La Gattara’s doors in the summer of 2016. Pruitt wants to create a comfortable, stylish coffeehouse full of 10-15 welcoming feline meows along with roasted coffee, specialty teas, wine bar and delectable munchies.
La Gattara, a member The North American Cat Cafe Embassy, has established key partnerships with All About Animals Rescue and Kate Benjamin renowned Cat Style Expert and co-author of two #1New York Times best selling books Catification: “Designing a Happy and Stylish Home for Your Cat (and You!)” and “Catify to Satisfy: Simple Solutions for Creating a Cat-friendly Home.”
Why are cat cafes so attractive? Cat cafes offer an alternative to owning a cat for those whose housing complexes have smaller living space footprints and/or will not allow nor accommodate for pets. Cat cafes also provide a means of therapeutic relief and most importantly, within the United States, cat cafes are set up as cat adoption sites. This provides another avenue for getting cats out of shelters, finding loving homes and avoiding the horrifying prospect of euthanasia.
The world's first cat cafe, "Cat Flower Garden", opened in Taipei, Taiwan in 1998. The first to open in the United States is Cat Town in Oakland, California which opened for business in October of 2014. Cat Town has adopted out over 150 cats since inception. There are cat cafes currently open in several states across the Unites States.
It is time for Arizona to add its own coffeehouse with cats to the growing list.
La Gattara needs your help in taking the next step to mark its territory. Learn more, become involved and above all, contribute to our Kickstarter campaign at http://kck.st/1SfcM9Y.
