Betsy’s Best—A Gourmet Nut and Seed Butter Company Created by Former Miss Indiana—Hits Shelves at Marsh Supermarkets
Naples, Florida (PRWEB) April 26, 2016 -- Betsy’s Best, maker of delicious and nutritious gourmet nut and seed butters, announced today their most recent partnership with Marsh Supermarkets, the Indianapolis, Indiana, based grocer. Betsy’s Best Gourmet Almond and Peanut Butters are now available in select Marsh locations throughout Indiana.
Although this is the first grocery chain in Indiana to sell Betsy’s Best, President and CEO Betsy Opyt is no stranger to the state. A native of Peru, Indiana, and a Ball State University graduate with a degree in dietetics, Opyt was crowned Miss Indiana in 2000. During her reign, she traveled the state on behalf of the Indiana Department of Education to teach children about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
It is her lifelong interest in nutrition that inspired Opyt to create Betsy’s Best. Frustrated by the lack of healthy, great tasting nut butters available in the grocery store, Betsy was motivated to create an all-natural alternative that she felt good about feeding her daughter.
“As a registered dietitian, I know what all those hard to pronounce words on a label mean,” Opyt explains. “But you don’t need a certification to know that partially hydrogenated soybean oil, high fructose corn syrup, and trans fats aren’t good for you. I set out to make nut and seed butters with tasty and healthy ingredients that my family loves to eat.”
The recipes she concocted in her Vitamix® became Betsy’s Best. Each flavor features all natural and delicious non-GMO ingredients, including Himalayan pink salt, chia seeds, cinnamon and honey, sourced from responsible, honest and healthy vendors. All of the products are gluten free.
“We sold our first jar of Betsy’s Best at a farmer’s market in Naples,” said Opyt. “Now we’re in stores throughout the country, but launching in Indiana is the icing on the peanut butter cake.
