Chambersburg, PA (PRWEB) April 25, 2016 -- The Franklin County Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce the Downtown Business Council of Chambersburg will be running First Fridays again this year in downtown Chambersburg. From May through October, visitors can enjoy different themed events from 5pm to 8pm and enjoy fun activities for the whole family.
In May, enjoy “A Taste of the Arts” with downtown businesses, restaurants and more! With local musicians and artists lining the streets and delicious special treats, this Friday will be an evening to relax and enjoy what downtown has to offer.
Learn more about health in June during “Holistic Health & Wellness First Friday.” Join Lotus Moon Gallery for yoga, learn about healthy eating and participate in the Run Against Poverty, which raises money to help the local community overcome poverty.
When the weather starts getting warmer in July, cool off with “Stars, Stripes & Straws First Friday.” Restaurants and businesses come together to provide delicious and refreshing beverages in the hottest month of the year! Peruse downtown shops
In August, as parents and kids prepare to go back to school, enjoy “Back-to-School First Friday” with a kid’s talent show and art show to help support local arts. There will be places for donations to local art and music programs.
September is going to the dogs during “Fido’s First Friday” downtown. Check out pet vendors, bring your four-legged friend downtown into stores marked with dog friendly signs, participate in contests, learn about adopting a new friend from the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, participate in contests and much more!
Get cozy with a book in October for “Author’s and Artist’s First Friday.” Talk and buy books from local authors, watch local artists and enjoy curling up with your new favorite book.
