Author and antiques expert, Terry Kovel, will be auctioning antiques and collectibles to help raise funds for public television in Cleveland, Ohio. Kovels.com will link to streaming “Auction Action.” The WVIZ/PBS Televised Auction is an exciting live TV event, starting Thursday, April 28 and continuing through Sunday, May 1. Terry, a longtime supporter of WVIZ, will be auctioning antiques and collectibles from the practical to the priceless on the air at the “X Table” Thursday, April 28; Friday, April 29; and Sunday, May 1.
Viewers can enjoy the thrill of live bidding—online or by phone—on thousands of items, everything from antiques and collectibles to wine, restaurant and grocery gift certificates, tickets to theater and sporting events, trips and priceless special events.
Antiques lovers will have lots to bid on. The auction will include pieces from a 40-year-old collection of Bellflower (1840s) pressed glass. Rare Bellflower castor sets with original bottles and stoppers, a large pitcher, compote with ruffled rim, decanter and more are for sale. And there are hundreds of other antiques and collectibles from roll top desks to fifties’ glass and dinnerware. Furniture offerings include a southern yellow pine cabinet, pie safe, crib, antique chairs, and multiple dining room sets. Flasks, figural bottles, Sandwich glass and tin candle molds will also be auctioned. Unique items include a 1930s toy store, dough box, Clark’s spool cabinet and much more. Everything is sold without reserve.
