NVTC to Host Health Care Informatics & Analytics Conference
(PRWEB) April 26, 2016 -- The Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) today announced it will host a first-ever Health Care Informatics & Analytics Conference on May 5 in partnership with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority and Inova Center for Personalized Health. The event, which will be hosted at the Inova Center for Personalized Health in Fairfax, Va., will explore how the Greater Washington Region can leverage the growing demand for Big Data and Analytics services and solutions with new specialized expertise in personalized health and precision medicine to become the nation's leader in health analytics.
During the event, speakers from the tech and health communities will discuss the convergence of these two industries and the opportunities for companies in our region. In addition to panels on genomics and digital health, keynote speakers will include:
• Christopher Barrett, Ph.D., Director, Biocomplexity Institute of Virginia Tech National Capital Region
• David A. Dworaczyk, Ph.D., Director of Life and Health Sciences Strategic Development, Oracle
• Dr. Shahram Ebadollahi, Vice President, Innovations & Chief Science Officer, IBM Watson Health Group
• Todd Stottlemyer, CEO, Inova Center for Personalized Health
Also during the program, Inova leaders will present case studies of functional scenarios currently facing the medical community in order to solicit feedback from attendees on how data analytics services and solutions can be applied to these health care challenges.
