Simparel Inc. Appoints Lana Cain Krauter to Board of Directors

Having served in executive leadership roles with JC Penney, Sears, Bealls and Goody’s, Ms. Krauter brings more than three decades of omni-channel retail expertise to the Simparel board.

Ms. Krauter, formerly EVP, CMO, and President for prominent retailers including JC Penney, Sears, Bealls, and Goody’s, brings over 3 decades of experience in leading business transformations in Omni-channel national and regional companies. Ms. Krauter joins Michael Lever, a successful entrepreneur and industry veteran and Steve Manz, an experienced and accomplished technology executive as a Non-Executive director on the Board.

As President of Apparel, Lana Krauter led a turnaround of the multi-billion-dollar apparel division of Sears, leading the first consecutive comparable sales growth and EBITDA improvement in a decade. As EVP at JC Penney of men's and children's apparel, she increased market share and comparable sales through the development of a high performance team of executives who, together, led a key turnaround in the company's history through strategic private and national brand positioning.

Lana Krauter is recognized as a high impact leader, innovator, and visionary. Most recently she was honored as 2014 Retailer of the Year from the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund in addition to other honors including National Humanitarian Award from National Jewish Medical, Woman of the Year from Joel Finkelstein Cancer Research Foundation, and Woman of Distinction from American Association of University Women.

Ms. Krauter is a Trustee of National Jewish Medical and Research Center and she has contributed as advisory board member to Florida State University. She is currently an Independent Director for two retailers and an advisor to senior executives in the retail sector.
