Regulatory Compliance Expert Certrec Hosts NERC Compliance Workshop in Fort Worth
Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) April 27, 2016 -- Certrec, a leading NERC regulatory compliance service provider, is pleased to announce their NERC compliance workshop held March second and third in Fort Worth.
Attendees consisted of generator owner/operators from 6 of the 8 NERC regions representing wind, solar, gas, nuclear, and coal assets.
“Certrec’s NERC compliance workshop presented the latest guidance on NERC standards as well as upcoming changes as they relate to our facilities. The amount of available information on NERC compliance can be overwhelming, making this focused workshop especially helpful. An added benefit was the opportunity to share experiences with industry peers,” Certrec client.
The workshop provided an update on CIP versions 5 and 6 as well as the latest information on PRC-005-6 as they pertain to GO/GOP registered entities. Two regional representatives presented their regulatory perspectives on the latest relevant standards and examples of successful programs. Certrec’s NERC team provided guidance on best practices.
One Certrec client gave an overview of his utility-scale solar facilities and the technologies employed.
“We’re delighted about the attendance and positive feedback after our first NERC compliance workshop. Next year’s workshop promises to be even better,” stated Ted Enos, Certrec CEO.
Many generator owner/operators are challenged to manage a successful NERC compliance program, addressing new and changing standards, technology dynamics, and day-to-day operations.
A proven NERC compliance program can provide significant savings in time and money. The entity with a proven, robust NERC compliance program enjoys less scrutiny – fewer audits often with reduced audit scope as compared to the entity that historically has compliance challenges.
