STRAHL LLC has launched the sales of a new pipe crawler with an amazingly wide spectrum of functions coupled with affordability. The Pipe Inspection Robot GECKO 9050 ( http://www.fiberscope.net/pipe-inspection-robot-gecko-9040.html ) is a carefully designed system allowing to inspect pipes up to 150 meters (445’) long. The system includes a crawler on tracks with controllable speeds up to 33 meters per minute and an optional steering function to bypass bends and corners with more ease. The standard configuration features a 78mm (3”) auto-leveling, pan and tilt camera head and a 120 meter (394 ft.) cable. The camera head boasts the self-levelling function and manual focus. Customized lengths up to 150 meters are available upon request. The diameter of the camera head permits inspecting pipes from 4’’ to 20’’ in diameter.
A number of advanced features place the pipe inspection robot among the best portable units of this type (http://www.fiberscope.net/pipe-inspection-robot.html) currently on the market. The GECKO 9050 has a color 8.4” LCD high definition monitor protected from scratches and other physical damage by a metal case. A full keyboard makes entering text notes or naming files a very easy task. The camera head and cable can withstand water pressure of up to 1.5 bar (50 ft. of depth in fresh water). Built-in high powered 24 LEDs and 12 SMD LEDs provide excellent illumination.
The German designed and built Pipe Inspection Robot GECKO 9050 is a high quality inspection tool for industrial applications where standard push cameras cannot deliver the necessary result. Taking into account its top notch functions, this reasonably priced unit is perhaps the best value currently on the market.
