“Securing appropriate technology for non-profits through the Meraki-Cisco award program is a win-win for everyone involved,” said Carmichael Consulting President Tyler Jones.
(PRWEB) April 28, 2016
Carmichael Consulting, an Alpharetta-based Managed IT Services provider and member of the Apple Consultants Network, announced today that The Drake House was chosen to receive a free wireless network from Meraki. Carmichael Consulting nominated The Drake House for the award during the Meraki-Giving Campaign in November 2015. Selected non-profits were recognized for their demonstrated need and ability to maximize use of the technology in their delivery of services.
“Enabling residents with wireless technology is a valuable part of helping them to re-establish productive lives and work towards their ultimate goal of self-sufficiency. Plus, the functionality of the equipment that permits us to monitor service is a real asset to our organization,” said Kathy Swahn, Executive Director of The Drake House. “We’re flattered that Carmichael Consulting nominated us for this award and pleased that they continue to help insure the smooth operations of our IT infrastructure.”
The Drake House received 5 MR26 APs (wireless access points) with 3 year licenses free of cost from Meraki (a donation valued at approximately $7,000). Carmichael Consulting donated the implementation services.
The Drake House chose to have the wireless access points installed in their main office as well as in the apartments where the mothers and children currently serviced by The Drake House reside.
“Securing appropriate technology for non-profits through the Meraki-Cisco award program is a win-win for everyone involved,” said Carmichael Consulting President Tyler Jones. “In this case in particular, the simple to manage Meraki wireless network is an excellent match for the requirements of The Drake House and integrates well with their existing cloud-based infrastructure.”
