The more compact design of the Type-C connector offers greater PCB savings, while allowing high-frequency mating in data, consumer, automotive, and industrial I/O applications.

Molex USB Type-C connectors support up to 5.0A of power, reducing battery-charging time by 64% when compared to micro-USB 2.0 models.

Type-C receptacles have a tongued design to help prevent damage, while the high-temperature nylon insert-mold receptacle housing prevents potential shorting. Plugs feature protective mylar between the housing and shell, as well as a high normal force terminal design to stabilize electrical performance.

Because they are available with cable options for both USB 2.0 and 3.1 specifications, Molex USB Type-C connectors and cable assemblies offer a great deal of flexibility.
