The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Summit and Medina Counties is celebrating its 45th Annual Volunteer Appreciation Lunch sponsored by Mature Services, Inc. Honoring volunteers by a “Hats Off to You” theme, the event will be held Thursday, May 12 at 11:00 am, at Guy’s Party Center, 500 East Waterloo Road in Akron, Ohio and is open to public attendance.
An exciting and fun luncheon is planned, featuring Leslie Parker Barnes. The founder and director of Youth Excellence Performing Arts Workshop, she will address nearly 200 volunteers, 55 and older, who served the community in 2015. Ms. Barnes will discuss the value of volunteerism and its impact upon local communities. An award-winning community leader, Ms. Barnes received The Margaret Clark Morgan Foundations Impact Award in 2012 for her dedication, vision, and commitment to excellence.
To help Mature Services celebrate the “Hats Off to You” theme, the company invites attendees to wear a favorite hat and participate in the “Best Hat of the Day” contest for a chance to win a prize!
Reservations are required for the event, which is free for RSVP members. Non-volunteers may purchase tickets in advance for $15.00 or tickets will be available for $20.00 at the door. The price includes a delicious lunch with choice of chicken or steak. Please call 330-253-4597 ext. 169 to make your reservation.
RSVP's mission is to provide diverse volunteer opportunities for people 55 and older.
