Waters Edge Recovery Helps Kick-Off The Great American Cleanup
Stuart, Florida (PRWEB) April 28, 2016 -- Waters Edge Recovery, working in partnership with Keep Martin Beautiful (KMB), gathered to make their contribution to the largest annual community improvement event, The Great American Cleanup, on Sunday, April 17th with garbage bags in hand.
Thanks go out to all the Waters Edge Recovery alumni who turned up, pulled on their gloves, and collected over 40 pounds of garbage, making a total of 90 pounds gathered so far this year. Rebecca Booth, the Alumni Coordinator for Waters Edge Recovery, explained, “As a group, we volunteer regularly to give back to the community that we are proud to be a part of. This is our second 2016 beach clean-up, and to show our commitment to keeping Martin County beautiful, I’d like to announce that we have set a new group goal to clearing 200 pounds of garbage by the end of this year.” After finishing up, tired but thrilled with their contribution, the team relaxed with a picnic lunch.
“The Waters Edge Recovery Alumni family is growing daily with people determined to give back and make a difference in their community. With the continued support and guidance of Waters Edge Recovery, we will all be winners,” said Booth.
Each year, more than 1,500 volunteers from every corner of Martin County join together as part of the annual Great American Cleanup (GAC). Conducted nationally by Keep America Beautiful and its affiliates from March through May, and coordinated locally by Keep Martin Beautiful (KMB), the Great American Cleanup is the nation’s largest, annual community improvement program.
