Ford Announces F-Series Super Duty Trucks Get an Upgrade, Will Be Available for Sale at Ford Country
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) April 30, 2016 -- Ford's F-Series Super Duty trucks have been industry leaders for more than 15 years, but it's finally time for an overhaul. In 2017, Ford will debut a redesigned Super Duty for the first time ever. Multiple cameras and sensors are among the new features that will make this the towing behemoth's biggest transformation to date.
As the most powerful member of Ford's best-selling F-Series lineup, Super Duty trucks are already designed for heavy-duty recreational and commercial towing. With the launch of the 2017 Super Duty lineup, Ford will dramatically improve the lineup's camera capabilities to give drivers an unprecedented 360-degree view of the truck's exterior.
The 2017 F-Series Super Duty has a variety of other upgrades that make towing easier and safer than ever before, from a stronger steel frame to a more capable powertrain. The truck's camera system, which harnesses the latest hardware and software technology to stitch multiple images together, is the reason insiders are calling it the "smartest Super Duty ever".
New 2017 Ford Super Duty Truck Also Available With Up to 7 Cameras
Every new Ford Super Duty truck will be available with up to 7 wired cameras, and the camera software will also collect data from four precise sensors – one for each side of the truck. The available cameras will include a front camera attached to the front of the vehicle, two side-view cameras attached to the side-view mirrors, and a rear-view camera attached to the backup headlights.
Drivers will access the live images from the same touch-screen monitor. The front camera and tailgate-mounted camera both offer split-screen viewing mode. This 180-degree view allows drivers to see obstacles around corners before turning.
Many of Ford's new design features are dramatic upgrades of existing features. For example, the 2016 Super Duty F-350 King Ranch is available with a rear-view camera, and other models have lane departure warning systems. However, the new Super Duty trucks will harness the latest camera and computer technology to minimize driver error and protect drivers, passengers, and cargo.
